Sound signals, e.g. speech or music, can be important carriers of information in a communication system, and sounds, e.g. road traffic noise, can have a significant negative impact on the environment. Most of the projects at Department of Acoustics comprise one of these two aspects of sound. The application of sound signals for condition monitoring, e.g. non-destructive testing is also being addressed.
