Catalysis
The Research Team is focussed on developing new environmental friendly catalytic processes in addition to optimising existing technology. The group is a joint effort where the university (NTNU) and SINTEF share laboratories and equipment.
The main areas are:
- Natural gas conversion
- Gas to liquids
- Syngas production
- Coking/deactivation
- Small scale hydrogen production for fuel cells
- Production and application of carbon nanotube materials
- Oil refining
- -Octane enhancing processes
- Reforming isomerization
- - Hydrotreating
- Sulfur and nitrogen removal
Hydrocracking
- Fundamental studies
- - Microkinetic modelling
- Special techniques
- STM, XPS, TEOM, SSITKA, EXAFS etc.
