Subsea equipment

The highest loads experienced by most subsea structures in the course of their life time occur during installation. In most cases, high splash-zone forces will determine the limiting installation sea state, with obvious implications for costs.

The design is a compromise between the need to protect the structure from falling objects and trawling gear as well as foundation stability on the one hand, and hydrodynamic loads on the other.

MARINTEK offers several model test techniques for determining hydrodynamic properties and the ability to deflect fishing gear.
