Advanced model manufacturing facilities

In 2002 MARINTEK installed a new 5-axis NC milling machine for manufacture of hull models at high precision. Models up to L x B x H 13,5 x 4,5 x 2,0 meter can be manufactured in one piece in a minimum of time. Geometry of models shall preferably be delivered as CAD surface description (IGES for MasterCam). However, a variety of descriptions can be handled. Larger models can be assembled from several pieces. EEW Elektronik Entwicklung GmbH in Schönberg (www.hsm-modal.com) has delivered the machine.

Due to the high efficiency and large capacity of this machine, MARINTEK offers milling of plugs and moulds to manufacturers of small crafts and other industries.
