Computer programs - Marine operations
- MIMOSA analyses mooring systems and moored vessels. It uses efficient frequency-domain techniques to calculate wave frequency and low frequency vessel motions and mooring tensions.
- MOOROPT-2 A MIMOSA TOOLBOX program. Performs costs minimization of mooring and riser line systems. Variables may be: line segment length, diameter, pre-tension or distance to anchor, buoyancy, line direction. Constraints to be satisfied may be: safety factor requirements for maximum and minimum tension, curvature radius, line angle at seabed, offset.
- SIMO (Simulation of complex marine operations) is a time domain simulation program for multibody systems, allowing non-linear effects to be included in the wave-frequency range. Flexible modelling of stationkeeping forces and connecting force mechanisms (anchor lines, ropes, thrusters) is included.
- MACSI (Marine Crane Simulation) is a PC-based program for simulation of offshore crane operations, where an object is lifted or lowered through the water to the sea bed. Various configurations and equipment with nonlinear characteristics can be handled by the program.
- DYNACAP is a computer program for evaluating the stationkeeping ability of a vessel's thruster positioning system. The program handles static analyses of dynamically positioned (DP) structures and thruster system evaluation.
- RESPONSE - a PC-based program for analysis of wave induced motion of a vessel. Motion parameters or seafastening forces at specified locations are calculated, based on 6-DOF motion transfer functions.
- VERES - Seakeeping and operability prediction programme with easy-to-use windows interface and extensive post-processing capabilities.
