High-throughput screening and analyses

The high-throughput screening laboratory at SINTEF/NTNU is applied for screening of mutants with improved properties, chemical and enzymatic assays, preparation for DNA-microarraying, screening for growth inhibiting compounds (antibiotics toxins etc.), enzyme inhibitors, growth stimulating compounds etc. The laboratory includes a colony-picking robot and a robotic liquid handling workstation.

The analytical facilities comprise two GC and six analytical HPLC systems, of which three are dedicated high-throughput HPLC-MS systems and one preparative HPLC system.
