System development methodology

A system development method describes techniques, tools, roles, deliverables, standards and activities for the development of a software or organisational system. Model-driven software development, in particular OMG's Model-Driven Architecture (MDA), is a new standard for modern software engineering.

We have experience with model-driven systems development for object-oriented, component-based and service oriented software systems.  Our methodology focus is on the use of UML and MDA for modelling the system's architecture, design and components.

In particular we focus on specification of platform independent models as a basis for automatic generation of platform specific models such as J2EE, CORBA, MS .NET and Web Services with XML. Through active participation in industry and research projects, in addition to standardisation activities within OMG, we can ensure that our methods are up-to-date with respect to the MDA-technology. We also have experience in adapting our methods to meet the customers tool and technology choice.

Course in Model-driven system development

We give a course at the University of Oslo on model-driven system development each spring. The course gives an introduction to the COMET-method developed by SINTEF.
