  50 participants met in Trondheim, Norway on 6 February for a kick off meeting. SINTEF is to lead the EU’s latest research project on CO₂ capture in coal- and gas-fired power stations.

• Gemini Centre wins award for CO₂ refrigeration technology
  Refrigeration scientists at SINTEF and NTNU have been honoured by an award from the International Energy Agency (IEA) for their contribution to solving the greenhouse problems caused by leaking refrigeration systems and heat pumps.

• CO₂ processing is a term that covers the capture of CO2 from industrial processes as well as the transport and sequestration of CO2 in rock structures.

SINTEF is one of the few R&D institutions that can work in all aspects of the CO₂ chain. Some of our pioneering projects in the field were started in 1987 to 1988.
