SINTEF NBL has a laboratory for testing heating plants and chimneys. The laboratory has test equipment for:

• environmental test for fireplaces
• safety test for fireplaces
• flue gas analysis
• test of small chimneys
• test of boiler plants

• Fluid oil stoves with vaporizing burners.

• Enclosed wood heaters.
  Smoke emission.
  NS 3058-1, NS 3058-2, NS 3058-3, NS 3058-4, NS 3059.
• Solid fuel room heaters.
  NS-EN 12809, NS-EN 12815, NS-EN 13229 and NS-EN 13240.
• Oil-fired air heaters with forced air circulation.
  Design, functional requirements and testing.
  NS 5095.
