How to travel to Trondheim and SINTEF NBL
Trondheim is the third largest town in Norway with approximately 157.000 inhabitants.
The city was founded in 997, and has a lot to offer tourists. Trondheim is also a modern town with a university and several other educational establishments, with a total of 15.000 students.
You can go there by air, rail or sea. The easiest way to travel to Trondheim is by air via Oslo or Copenhagen. SASBraathens, Norwegian Air Shuttle and Widerøe have flights to Trondheim Airport. KLM has regular air service from Amsterdam twice a day.
Trondheim has a mild and wet climate despite its location. It is always wise to bring an umbrella.
Trondheim Airport Værnes is located half an hour drive from the city. Airport busses have one departure for Trondheim per plane. Airport taxi (see below) is another alternative for people travelling to or from Trondheim. The airport also has a railway station. If you go by car we recommend the highway, but be aware that this is a Toll Road. If you plan to go straight to our site, take the first exit (marked Oslo) after passing the toll bar and a short tunnel. Or you may want to visit the city first and check into your hotel.
