Fire Safety Engineering
This discipline include the use of mathematical models to:
calculate the development of fires in order to determine heat loads, spread of flame and smoke production
- calculate fire scenarios offshore, on board vessels and also in building materials.
- estimates of rates of development of fires on the basis of materials and fuels, geometries and ventilation
- estimates of smoke diffusion in order to determine levels of personnel exposure
- modelling at several technical levels depending on approach desired, and development and modification of suitable models
