WaveNet
Wave and current loads on net panels and net cages
WaveNet is a research project run by SINTEF Fisheries and Aquaculture. The project is funded by the Research Council of Norway, 2006-2008. The objective of the project is to increase the understanding of both local and global wave and current load effects on flexible net based structures such as fish cages and systems of fish cages. Sub goals in the project:- Establish better knowledge of hydrodynamic loading on net based structures
- Establish 3D CFD methods to calculate hydrodynamical coefficients on basic elements of net panels, with special emphasis on dependency of Reynolds number, solidity, fouling and KC-number
- Increase the accuracy of the 3dNot computer model
- Investigate correlation effects on wave loads on large spatial structures in short crested sea states
- Develop improved and efficient methods for wave load calculations on aquaculture constructions
