Our vision
”Technology for better utilization of renewable marine resources”

SINTEF Fisheries and Aquaculture Ltd perform basic and applied research for commercial customers as well as governmental institutions and bodies, the Norwegian Research Council, the European Union, the United Nations (FAO), and others – more than 80% of our revenues come from research contracts and among those, contract research for industry is the bulk.

Our facilities and resources
Moving our offices and lab-activities to the SINTEF SeaLab (summer 2005) give our research departments excellent facilities for applied research. In these new facilities we have a range of different laboratories, direct supply of seawater and even an artificial fishing boat platform which can emulate ship movements for testing equipment and processes under "real" sea- and wave conditions. These excellent working facilities, our experienced and highly trained researchers and our partnership
and close cooperation with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology provide a sound base for both basic and applied research – from very specialized scientific fields to multidisciplinary and applied solutions to our clients.
